Your question is a good question, different people will give different answers. Shortly, I think it depends on individual and one's own life situation. But one point you should remember that in our life, money doesn't mean everything, but without money, you are sure to be unhappy.

Rickbress, your point is right -- "money doesn't mean everything, but without money, you are sure to be unhappy." That's why so many people are working hard to make money, they don't want to be unhappy.

Can money buy happiness? Stanford study says yes
The answer to the age-old question is that money makes people happy and the relationship between money and happiness is stronger for people paid by the hour because they are more often reminded of how much they earn.
"If you are paid by the hour or account for your time on a timesheeet, you begin to see the world in terms of money and in terms of economic evaluation," said Jeffrey Pfeffer, a professor in the university's graduate school of business.

Do you know? A survey tracking happiness among the mega-wealthy found that 37% of Forbes 400 respondents reported being less happy than the average American.
